Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by fungi. Several traditional Chinese medicines are prone to contamination of mycotoxins produced during the process of cultivation and storage, such as aflatoxin, ochratoxin, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, and patulin. It is necessary to enhance control on relevant mycotoxins because they are toxic to humans.
This Guidelines is used to determine mycotoxins in traditional Chinese medicines.
