The Regulation on Protection of Wild Medicinal Resources was issued on Oct. 30, 1987 and took effect on Jan. 1, 1987. It is formulated for the purpose of protecting and rationally utilizing wild medicinal resources, and meeting the people's demands on medical treatment and health care. The Regulations applies to any unit or individual that obtains or sells wild medicines in the territory of the People's Republic of China, save those stipulated in other State regulations.
