Thai FDA Expedites Drug Import Via Digital Channel

by Grace Wang Aug 18, 2023

On Aug. 17, 2023, Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the policy for expediting the import of healthcare products, including drugs, medical devices, food, and cosmetics, with the aid of digital service.

The digital processing service allows efficient inspection of goods at customs checkpoints and quick release of goods through customs checkpoints into Thai market.

To obtain the release authorization at the checkpoint, only the ID card of the importer’s responsible person is required.

Thanks to this policy, goods can stay for less time at the checkpoints.

While accelerating the import process, Thai FDA says it keeps strict supervision on product quality and safety.
